WT Woodson High School is a comprehensive 4 year public high school located in the suburbs of Washington, DC.

WT Woodson has an exceptionally strong academic program featuring a comprehensive Advanced Placement program offering 24 courses on campus and others through the FCPS online campus.  The AP program provides a rigorous academic course of study for highly motivated students.  Since a large majority of WT Woodson students will attend college, the curriculum for all students reflects the value we place on learning.

WT Woodson also offers an Honors program for highly motivated students.  Honors courses are offered in English, mathematics, science and social studies.

English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL), Hearing Impaired, Learning Disabilities and Emotional Disabilities support is provided for students with special needs.

The mission of Woodson High School is to create an environment where all students achieve and maintain high levels of academic performance, value learning, appreciate diversity, and demonstrate responsible citizenship.

  • The school should support excellence in all aspects of student life, academics, the arts, activities, and athletics.
  • The school should emphasize academic performance and provide a rigorous and challenging curriculum.
  • Each student is unique, and the school should offer a broad curriculum for the varied needs and interests of the students.
